Anna Kendrick - Scrappy Little Nobody

October 13th, 2016 - 3:15pm

The College of Marin Library and Book Passage are pleased to announce that Anna Kendrick will be performing at COM on December 1. In Scrappy Little Nobody, Academy and Tony Award-nominated actress Anna Kendrick brings her sharp wit and winningly wry observations to the page, recounting the many extraordinary—and the charmingly ordinary—moments along her road to success.

As authentic and engaging as the dispatches that delight Kendrick's 13.5 million social media followers, this collection of autobiographical essays, penned by Anna herself, examines the absurdities of life in (and out of) the spotlight.  With candid stories about her normal-yet-not upbringing (with a mom and dad loathe to become stereotypical stage parents), making her Broadway debut in “High Society,” launching to fame with break-out roles in "Up in the Air" and "Pitch Perfect," and adapting to the highs and lows of Hollywood, Anna tells it like it is--all in her inimitable, instantly relatable, and very funny voice.

Born and raised in Portland, Maine, Anna Kendrick made her Broadway debut at the age of twelve for her Tony-nominated performance in the musical High Society.  Since her Academy Award-nominated role as Natalie Keener in Up in the Air, she has made numerous theatrical appearances, including starring roles in The Twilight SagaInto the Woods and Pitch Perfect film franchises.  In 2013, she achieved musical success with the #2 Billboard hit song, "Cups (When I'm Gone)," featured in Pitch Perfect.  Kendrick stars in Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, in theaters now, and in upcoming films including The AccountantTrolls, and The Hollars.  She will reprise her role as Beca in Pitch Perfect 3, coming in 2017.
