The Student Advocacy and Activities Office has put together a great lineup of events for Fall 2016 Welcome Week. Events are geared for both new and returning students—there is something for everyone.
Faculty, staff, students, and community members are invited to attend upcoming Facilities Master Planning Forums for the Kentfield and Indian Valley Campuses. Broad participation is important as the College moves forward to enhance the educational environment for all who benefit from the many opportunities provided through classes, events, and performances at College of Marin. The forums are open to the public and are free of charge.

Superintendent/President David Wain Coon, Ed.D. addressed faculty, staff, and administrators on Wednesday, August 17, 2016, at Convocation. These remarks were delivered after the audience viewed a seven-and-a-half minute video chronicling the tragic events that occurred over the summer. Remarks included a call to action requesting that the dialog continue both in and out of the classroom on how we as a College can better understand each other and our students.
As of today, August 22, the Online Writing Center (OWC) is open 24/7 to help students with writing assignments for all college subjects. Students can get free help with grammar, idea development, and organization, as well as with research and essays.
Art by COM's Fine Arts Department faculty will be exhibited August 22 through September 8, 2016.
Earlier this summer College of Marin lost long-time professor and UPM union leader Paul Christensen. Paul retired in December 2012 after 40 years of teaching Sociology and Behavioral Sciences. Paul was highly regarded by his students and colleagues.
