Contemporary Opera Marin Presents Two Extraterrestrial Operas

Paul Smith directs Contemporary Opera Marin as they present two operas with other-worldly themes. Judith Weir adapts one of Mozart's earliest works to modern day sensibilities. No longer does the Roman general dream of future conquests, but an office drone daydreams of escape from his humdrum existence.

Paul Smith has expanded his one-act community opera, Aurora, to include more characters of that small Texas town and their moment of notoriety in April 1897 when a flying saucer crashed into a nearby barn. It must be true...it was in the newspaper!
