Open enrollment for Covered California has begun. In general, you can buy marketplace health insurance only during the annual open enrollment period, which is ongoing now through January 31, 2017.
To help with this process, Erik Knowles, an enrollment counselor from Marin Community Clinics, will be providing enrollment assistance to College of Marin students each Tuesday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Student Services Center, room 120. Free information, screening, and appointment scheduling for eligible students to be enrolled in either Medi-Cal or Covered California will be provided in addition to answering questions about coverage.
Tuesdays through December 20, 2016

HELPFUL STEPS
1. Connect to the Health Insurance Marketplace (www.HealthCare.gov) or Covered California (www.CoveredCA.com.) Review plans to select an insurance plan.
2. Compare the plans, which are all listed in one place, for easier side-by-side comparisons. Every plan is required to cover benefits including doctor visits, hospital care, emergency care prescriptions, preventative care, and more.
3. Choose by selecting the plan that works for you and your lifestyle, then enroll.
4. Covered!
