Social Sciences Professor Robert Ovetz, Ph.D. was quoted in the publication Salon in an article titled "Life in academic poverty as an underpaid university teacher: 'They just don’t want to pay.'" Ovetz wrote his Ph.D. dissertation about privatization at the University of Austin, which led him to findings that were considered by some to be controversial.
