Kudos to Communication Department Professor Patricia O’Keefe, who co-authored "The development of a set of core communication competencies for introductory communication courses" published in Communication Education, Vol. 66, No. 1, pgs. 1-18. The Core Communication Competencies Group (CCCGers) includes Isa N. Engleberg, Prince George’s Community College; Susan M. Ward, Delaware County Community College; Lynn M. Disbrow, Huntingdon College; James A. Katt, University of Central Florida, Scott A. Myers, West Virginia University; and Patricia O’Keefe, College of Marin. The CCCGers were a five-year task force appointed by Steven A. Beebe, President of the National Communication Association, to identify the core communication competencies in the lower division, general education courses in the field of communication.
