October 2nd, 2016 - 10:47am

The Professional Development Committee is excited to announce the first Classified Staff Professional Development Day, which will bring together all classified staff from both campuses. The program, which includes lunch, will begin with an opening session with Superintendent/President Dr. David Wain Coon and Senior Vice President of Student Learning and Student Services Jonathan Eldridge. Staff can choose two sessions from among six options including:

•    Cultivating an Inclusive Campus
•    Mindful Stress Reduction
•    Collaborating in the Cloud - RSVP Required. See program for details.
•    COM Safe Space
•    Student Panel
•    Effectively Serving, Working, and Partnering with Five Generations of Students and Staff

These sessions will provide techniques for reducing stress, insight about COM’s diverse student population, tips to brush up technology skills, an opportunity to meet colleagues from other departments, and a free lunch!

As this is an “all play” (mandatory) event for classified professionals. Managers are asked to please make the appropriate arrangements to close respective offices and service areas during those hours.
